Drywashers need a substantial volume of air coming into the recovery box to keep the box shaking. Too much air escaping through the cloth may blow fine gold off. These adjustable air vents allow the amount of air coming into the box to remain high to maintain shaking but reduce the volume of air going through the cloth to prevent fine gold from being blown away. They are adjustable to set the amount of air to escape and nyloc tensioned to keep the adjustment set.
