All components are designed for rugged outdoor use. The frame is made of marine-grade aluminum. The fasteners and pan shaft are made of marine-grade stainless steel. If you are only going to use the Gold Magic machine in the US or Canada, it is better to purchase the standard 12-E model.  The charging system on the 12-E will provide a longer-lasting battery charge on a 110 volt power grid than the 12-U charging system.
